My purse and credit cards/check book was stolen! How can I catch these criminals?

Question by Ice 9: My purse and credit cards/check book was stolen! How can I catch these criminals?
My car was broken into last weekend. My purse along with ID, check book, credit cards and SS card were stolen. I called my bank and they said those people already used my card at McDonalds. Is there a way I can ask to look at the McDonalds camera there to see who these criminals are?? And will the police help me look for them??

My checkbook was also stolen and I have no clue if they used any
